Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Monday announced new regulations on issuing or renewing the passports of Jordanians abroad.
The new regulations would abolish chapter b of article 2 of the original instructions and replace it with the following:
"If an applicant for a passport has a judicial verdict previously issued against him/her, or is accused of financial offenses related to the treasury of the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, or has final criminal judicial rulings against them, their regular passport shall not be renewed, but they will be granted emergency travel documents to return to the Kingdom with the approval of the Minister of Interior and the relevant security authorities."
The minister said the amendment comes out of the ministry’s keenness to simplify procedures for renewing regular passports for Jordanians living outside the Kingdom and "to provide the best service so that they can freely move and go about their business."
