Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 1.136 million barrels of Iraqi crude oil passed through the Jordan Petroleum Refinery (JPR) in 2019, announced the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
In a statement on Saturday, Minister Hala Zawati said 1,430 tankers transported crude oil by land to the JPR facility in Zarqa since Iraq began supplying the Kingdom with oil last September.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed in February 2019, Jordan purchases Iraq's Kirkuk oil at an average of 10,000 barrels a day at benchmark crude Brent prices minus transport costs and deviations in standards.
This only meets a part of Jordan's annual needs of crude oil.
