Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A humid and cold air mass and an accompanying depression will affect the Kingdom on Saturday as temperatures continue to drop, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) reported.
The weather will be chilly with cloud cover alternating between partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Sporadic rain showers are forecast in the northern and central regions and some parts of the southwestern areas.
At night, the air mass will deepen as heavy rainfall is expected at times, accompanied by lightening and thunder and occasional hail storms. This will cause floods in the valleys and lowlands.
The JMD's daily report also predicted snow showers over mountainous regions.
Maximum and minimum temperatures in Amman and the northern region will hover between 9 - 5 degrees Celsius, 9 - 2 degrees in the southern highlands, while in Aqaba highs will hit 19 and lows will to 12 degrees.
The air mass will continue to affect Jordan on Sunday with similar weather conditions prevailing. A slight rise in temperature is forecast for Monday as the weather remains cold in most parts of the Kingdom.
