Government stimulus bundle prevented export plunge, says ZCC

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - President of Zarqa Chamber of Commerce (ZCC), Hussein Shuraim, said the government’s recent economic stimulus plan and the tax reduction on electric and hybrid vehicles in the Free Zone prevented Zarqa’s exports in the past year to "significantly" plummet.
In an interview with "Petra" on Thursday, he noted the value of Zarqa's commercial exports (re-exports) during the past year decreased by 25%, compared to 2018, with trade exports reaching JD372 million at the end of 2019, compared to JD501 million at the end of 2018.
Based on statistics, he said 6334 certificates of origin were issued by the ZCC and its office in the Zarqa Free Zone during the past year.
