Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A depression will begin to affect the country on Sunday, bringing clouds at different altitudes and rain that will start in the northern and central regions and move gradually towards the rest of the Kingdom by midnight, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
The depression, centered over Cyprus, will be accompanied by heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and hail during the night, forming flash floods in the lowlands. Winds will be westerly moderate picking up at times.
The wet and cold air mass will continue to prevail on Monday and Tuesday, with cloudy skies, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms at some areas. Westerly moderate to brisk winds are also forecast for the next two days, the JMD added.
Daytime temperatures for today in Amman and the northern cities will hover around 13 degrees Celsius, dropping down at night to 8 in both areas. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 24 degrees and lows standing at 16, the JMD said.
