Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education said it would consider increasing the number of accredited universities in Jordan soon.
There is a study to increase the number of accredited universities in Jordan, as the number of universities currently accredited for undergraduate study is only two, said Director of the Arab Universities Program in the Department of Equivalency at the Qatari Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Jaber Al Jaber.
Speaking to the Qatar radio station, Jaber noted that the Department of Equivalency received 4500 applications for the prior approval to study abroad in one year, which indicates that students are aware of the need to perform this procedure before going to study, until their certificates are recognized.
There are many Qatari students in Jordan whose positions have been rectified through a committee, formed for this purpose, Jaber added.
He explained that the committee met with the students and transferred them from the unrecognized universities to the accredited ones, recognizing the number of hours of study they completed at their previous universities.
He called on any student studying abroad without prior approval, to go to the Qatari Cultural Attaché in the country where he is studying, to rectify his position and thus to be transferred to another accredited university.
