Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz and Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Atef Tarawneh agreed on Monday to set up a parliament-government committee to come with proposals and ideas for the 2020 draft budget.
The committee, which will begin intensive meetings soon, will include a number of concerned ministers and heads of parliamentary committees, as well as the directors of the concerned government departments, in order to consult on the main features of the 2020 budget.
The prime minister, deputy prime minister and minister of finance reviewed the main features of the draft 2020 budget bill, which will be submitted by the government to the Lower House on its constitutional date.
In this regard, the government said its 2020 draft budget is results-oriented, as one of the important tools in the overall development process, while maintaining expenditure control measures and enhancing public revenue streams.
The government also emphasized its commitment to working with the parliament to address a range of imbalances and challenges facing the public budget, while ensuring financial and economic stability.
The House speaker and other lawmakers presented a number of proposals related to fiscal and administrative reform and channeling more spending towards healthcare and education services.
