Gov''t approves raising salaries of military retirees, veterans

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - In implementation of the Royal Directives, the Cabinet, on Monday, decided to raise salaries of military retirees and veterans who were retired before 1/6/2010 by amounts ranging from JD28 to JD38, with a total value of JD53.3 million annually.

The decision, which was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, included raising salaries of heirs of military retirees referred to retirement or deceased on the job before 1/6/2010 by JD20 per case distributed equally on heirs, as it shall be disbursed to heirs of military retirees referred to retirement before 1/6/2010 and those who died after 1/102019.

The decision also included the necessary amendment to regulations of the living cost allowance for retirees and its amendments for 1981 to become as set forth in the amended cost of living allowance for retirees for 2019.

Earlier, the Prime Minister has formed a committee to study the issue of raising military retirees salaries and submit its recommendations to the Cabinet to take the appropriate decision accordingly.
