Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected on Wednesday as partly cloudy and rainy weather will prevail across the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Rainfall is expected to be heavy and accompanied by thunder and lightning at times, causing floods in valleys and low-lying areas, while winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia regions, the JMD added.
A further in mercury levels is forecast on Thursday with clouds at various altitudes and a chance for scattered showers, especially in the southern and eastern areas of the country. Winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk, stirring dust at times, the JMD noted.
Temperatures will continue dropping on Friday, becoming around their seasonal average, so pleasant weather will prevail in the hilly areas and plains, while it will be moderate in other parts of the country with clouds at various altitudes and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD further said.
The JMD warned of slippery roads, torrents, floods in valleys and low-lying areas, and low visibility due to dust in Badia regions in addition to thunderstorms.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern cities will reach 31 degrees Celsius, dropping down at night to 20 and 21 degrees respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 39 degrees and lows standing at 29 at night, the JMD further said.
