King inaugurates CDD’s Water and Mountain Rescue Centre

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Sunday inaugurated the Water and Mountain Rescue Centre affiliated with the Civil Defence Directorate (CDD), at the Dead Sea.
Upon arrival, King Abdullah was received CDD Director Maj. Gen. Mustafa Bazaiah and a number of senior officers. His Majesty was briefed by Maj. Gen. Bazaiah on the centre’s role and services.
The centre, which provides services to citizens and tourists and safeguards the area’s tourist and investment infrastructure, was established at the recommendation of the independent committee, formed upon Royal directives, to probe the incident caused by floods in the Dead Sea area.
During the visit, the King observed training drills conducted by 220 recently recruited divers and the search and rescue team, including the use of newly introduced rescue boats, demonstrating the skills of CDD personnel in water and mountain rescue operations.
Moreover, His Majesty was shown the latest equipment used by CDD personnel in water and mountain rescue operations, as well as designs of projects to be implemented by the CDD as part of its development plans.
During the visit, which included a lunch with a number of CDD personnel, the King expressed pride in the advanced level of CDD personnel, in terms of readiness, professionalism and performance in the field.
Adviser to His Majesty for Policies and Media Kemal Al Nasser accompanied His Majesty on the visit.
