Representatives of the syndicate said during a meeting with a ministerial team today that abuses were committed during the sit-in, which was held to demand a wage hike. The government pledged that "in case it received any documented abuses submitted by the Teachers Association, it will open an investigation with all transparency and seriousness, so that the results of the investigation will be announced immediately upon completion." The government reaffirmed it will fully and keenly safeguard the "dignity and prestige" of the teacher, and will apply the full force of the law and rules of accountability against anyone who is proven to have violated the law and the respect of free expression.
