Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan has slammed a "terrorist massacre" that rocked New Zealand after a gunman rampaged through two mosques, killing and injuring dozens of Muslim worshippers who were performing the Friday prayers.
State Minister for Media Affairs Jumana Gneimat voiced Jordan's rejection of terrorism and assaulting those living in peace and places of worship.
Such heinous terrorist acts require concerted and participatory international approach and efforts to counter terrorism in all its forms and manifestations at the intellectual and security levels, said Gneimat, who is also the government official spokesperson.
She voiced the Jordanian government's condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
At least one gunman killed 49 people and wounded more than 20 during Friday prayers at two New Zealand mosques in the country’s worst ever mass shooting which Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern condemned as terrorism, according to Reuters.
The gunman broadcast live footage on Facebook of the attack on one mosque in the city of Christchurch, mirroring the carnage played out in video games, after publishing a "manifesto" in which he denounced immigrants.
