Al-Khatib told Petra's reporter that the Palestinian Awqaf will work on repairing the iron gate and put new locks. "The Bab al-Rahmeh gate is an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and sovereign over it will remain for the Jordanian Islamic Awqaf Department under the custodian of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - General Director of the Jerusalem Endowment and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, said that Jordan's efforts during the last few days to remove iron chains and locks from Bab al-Rahmeh gate have paid off today.
