Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is forecast Tuesday, but it will remain relatively cold in the hilly areas and the Palins, while it be fair in the Jordan valley and the Dead sea, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and in the northern cities will stand at 15 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 8 and 9 degrees respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 21 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 12 degrees.
A further rise in mercury levels is also expected on Wednesday, becoming above their annual average and creating sunny and pleasant conditions across many parts of the country.
Winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk winds, especially in the desert areas. Clouds at various altitudes will start to build up Wednesday night with a chance for light showers in the northern and central parts of the country, the JMD noted.
A wet and cold air mass accompanied by a depression centered over western Cyprus will start affecting the Kingdom on Thursday, pushing temperatures down and creating cold, cloudy conditions with rainfall at times in the northern central and areas of the country.
Winds will be southwesterly brisk, blowing dust in the desert regions, the department further said.
