Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Thursday started a working visit to the Republic of Iraq in a meeting with the President of Iraq, Barham Salih, during which he conveyed greetings and congratulations of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Salih on assuming Iraq's top office.
During the talks, Safadi stressed the Kingdom's keenness to develop cooperation with Iraq in all fields.
In turn, Iraqi President conveyed his greetings to His Majesty.
Safadi also met with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who congratulated him on assuming his duties, and stressed Jordan's keenness to stand by Iraq and the new Iraqi government to fulfill their responsibilities at this important stage.
Safadi stressed the depth of bilateral relations and the importance of enhancing them for the benefit of the two countries' peoples.
In a separate meeting, Safadi held extensive talks with his Iraqi peer, Mohammed al-Hakim, during which they discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations and regional developments.
