Drop in temperatures forecast, as depression to take effect Thursday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected Wednesday, bringing moderate conditions in most parts of the country, while it will be relatively hot in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Clouds at high and low altitudes are also forecast with a chance for scattered showers in the eastern and western parts of the country, while winds will be southwesterly moderate, picking up at times and stirring dust in the eastern and northern regions, the JMD added.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the southern cities will reach 30 degrees Celsius, in the northern cities 32, dropping down to 18 and 19 respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 34 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 23 degrees at night.
On Thursday, the Kingdom will be affected by a depression centered over Cyprus, accompanied by a wet and relatively cold air mass. Therefore, a tangible in temperatures is expected with partly cloudy and rainfall at times across many regions.
Heavy rain is also expected at times, accompanied by thunder and lightening, causing floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be westerly brisk blowing dust in the Badia areas, the department further said.
Another depression is also forecast on Friday, but similar conditions will continue with rain at times in most parts of the country.
