Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz Thursday said " I am aware of the long and difficult road ahead, but we will spare no effort to meet the aspirations of Jordanians towards a better tomorrow."
In his response to Lower House lawmakers remarks' on the government policy statement, the premier said all observations, views and ideas during the debate have been documented
"Cabinet minister, according to their respective competences, have been instructed to address these observations", the premier told the session.
He, moreover, said the government eyes to motivate youths towards productive and effective citizens in their societies.
"The government will launch various programs that would enable us from investing in younger generations", said Razzaz.
He referred to the new "social contract" as the action towards translating principles of the constitution into a living reality as there is a difference between the constitutional provisions and the legislation emanating from them and the state practices.
"All the talk about the "deal of the century" or the so-called "alternate homeland" evaporate before the Jordanian constants and values, Razzaz said, affirming Jordan's support of the Palestinian people and their cause.
" We stress that Jordan does not know what the United States will present but we are sure that our Palestinian brethren, as does the entire world, are aware of our resolute position which advocates peace as the foundation to establish a sovereign Palestinian state on the basis of the two-state solution", Razzaz said.
Jordan, he added, would never compromise or accept a solution abolishing the just right of the Palestinian people to end the occupation.
The premier pointed out that the Kingdom supports establishing a viable and independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital in line with the International legitimacy Resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
In response to the lawmakers' remarks and demands, the Prime Minister pledged that the government will give a thorough view of the regulations governing the work of the health sector, increase the number of people covered by health insurance, promote the potential of health centers in order to relieve the pressure on hospitals.
The government will also review taxes levied on the agricultural sector and will also put forward a comprehensive plan using an indicator-based approach measuring the performance with the aim of boosting the contribution of this key sector in the national economy, the premier said.
Moreover, he said, the government will also review the Building by-law, taking into consideration all challenges related to the construction process.
He also promised that the government would carry out a complete and comprehensive study for a general amnesty, emphasizing the step would take into account enshrining the rule of the law.
Further, the government will also reconsider the instructions of the student support funds in local universities and remove the student loan restrictions ensuring reimbursement.
The government will also continue, in collaboration with the security bodies, combating drug trafficking across the Kingdom.
It will also activate the Zakat (form of alms-giving in Islam) fund programs by encouraging donations to help the poor and the indebted citizens.
The premier said the government will endeavor to enhance the public transportation by dedicating a portion of the fuel revenues to support this key sector.
It will also work to encourage investment in renewable energy, develop energy resources, improve tourism services, introduce e-services and carry out strategic projects aimed at achieving water security and protecting of water sources.
The Prime Minister said that the government will look positively into the lawmakers' observations, demands and proposals and pledged to consider the possible implementation of them in accordance with the national priorities and in embodiment of a partnership-based approach in the interest of the nation and its people.
