Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Lower House's Palestine Committee met on Thursday with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Ayman Safadi.
Head of the Committee Yahya Saud voiced pride of the Lower House in Jordan's diplomatic efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II at all regional and international forums to serve the Palestinian issue, support the legitimate rights of the Palestinians and deal with repercussions of the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
Safadi briefed members of the committee on Jordan's efforts to defend Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites and preserve the historical and legal status of the holy city in cooperation with the Palestinians.
The minister also spoke about Jordan's efforts to support UNRWA, pointing to the ministerial meeting that was held in Rome earlier this month to rally support for the UN agency.
