Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Israeli Foreign Ministry has published an internal tender for selecting a new ambassador to Jordan, a week after solving a crisis between the two countries over a shooting incident at the Israeli Embassy in Amman.
The new ambassador will be chosen from the pool of the ministry’s current employees, the Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot reported on Tuesday.
Last week, Israel and Jordan said they have reached an agreement over a shooting incident last July at the Israeli Embassy in Amman that left two Jordanians dead.
In July 2017, an Israeli security guard shot dead two Jordanian workers in a residential building for Israeli embassy staff after he was stabbed by one of them with a screwdriver.
The Jordanian government said Israel has expressed its apology over the shooting incident.
According to Israeli media, the agreement includes that former Israeli ambassador Einat Shlain will not be returning to Jordan and a new ambassador will be appointed in her place.
