Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Council of Ministers has directed ministries and concerned entities to start preparation to switch to electronic service in implementation of last week's cabinet order to stop paperwork and begin providing ten services online to the public as of Jan. 1, 2018.

Among these are land registration, the issuance of professional licenses, payment of land tax and traffic violations, the issuance of non-conviction certificates, renewal of vehicle licenses and social security services.

The cabinet stressed the importance of promoting online services and training employees in coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

It directed all ministries and government entities to issue tenders for the move to e-service via the communications ministry's special tenders committee with the aim of accelerating bidding and the purchase of services.

The council also tasked the communications ministry to coordinate with the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence on monitoring service quality control and follow up on the move to electronic service in these ministries and institutions.

The switch to online service is within the government's strategy to revamp the administration system and ensure that the e-government scheme is fully in place by 2020 with the aim of addressing overstaffing and elevating performance and the quality of service offered to both the public and investors.
