Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Al Mulki on Monday briefed the president and members of the Senate on the latest developments, challenges facing Jordan, mainly in the economic field, as well as measures taken by the government to address these challenges.
During the meeting, which was attended by a number of ministers, Al Mulki voiced the government's keenness to maintain cooperation and coordination with the two Houses of Parliament in order to maximize national accomplishments and overcome challenges created by the unstable conditions in the region, adding that Jordan will be able to overcome these challenges and turn them into opportunities.

The prime minister said that the public debt surge had stopped after it began to rise over the past few years due to the situation in the region and the influx of Syrian refugees. "Due to that, there was a need to press ahead with a national economic and financial reform program to put the Jordanian economy back on the right track," he added.
Al Mulki said that the government will attack greater attention to the transport sector in order to develop a public transport system that will reflect positively on all Jordanians.
Senate president Faisal Al Fayez said the economic and social challenges facing Jordan require concerted efforts by all in order to address them and achieve the higher national interests.
