Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel foiled an attempt to smuggle 9 million narcotic pills, the largest amount of drugs that have been seized in the Kingdom since the beginning of the year.

The department received a tip-off about suspects planning to prepare and hide a large quantity of illegal drugs in order to smuggle them to a neighboring country, subsequently forming a joint taskforce to gather intelligence on the suspects and their plans.

The taskforce identified the suspects involved in the operation, tracked them down and discovered that the narcotics were hidden in secret compartments in a vehicle. The AND personnel also seized the vehicle and arrested a person involved in the smuggling attempt. The AND said search was underway for the other people involved in the smuggling attempt.
