Crown Prince attends maritime military drill

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah was in the training field Saturday for a maritime military drill carried out by a Special Operations unit in the port city of Aqaba.

At the start of the exercise, attended by Deputy Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Saber Mahayreh and top Special Operations officers, the Special Operations commander gave a briefing about the progress and stages of the maritime anti-terrorism exercise.

The drill, carried out by a special team of the Battalion/71, featured the storming of a beach and destruction of a coastal target after landing by fast rope from helicopter gunships as well as the use of frogmen and special boats and shooting in open areas to destroy the target.

The Crown Prince expressed his admiration of the distinguished level and skills of the joint Special Operations Forces and their precision in hitting the targets in coordination with the ground forces.
