Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Bashir Al Zou'bi and French Ambassador to Jordan David Bertolotti on Wednesday, signed a joint declaration on nuclear safety.
The declaration will enable Jordan to benefit from the French experience in preventing and detecting attempts to smuggle nuclear and radioactive materials and to respond effectively to such attempts.
The signing of the declaration comes within the government's follow up on the initiative of His Majesty King Abdullah II to build and strengthen world countries' capacities to prevent the smuggling of these dangerous materials.
The initiative was launched by King Abdullah during his participation in the summits of nuclear security in Seoul, the Hague and Washington in 2012, 2014, and 2016 respectively, and was supported by many countries.
