Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, received U.S. Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt, and discussed with him efforts to re-launch the peace process.

During the meeting, which took place in the Al Husseiniyah palace, King Abdullah emphasized the importance of the U.S. role in ending the deadlock in the peace process and re-launching serious and direct negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis on the basis of the two-state solution as the only way to end the conflict.

The King said reaching a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state would achieve security and stability for the whole region.

The U.S. official said achieving peace between the Palestinians and Israelis will have a positive impact on the region, underlining the importance of Jordan's role, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, in pushing forward efforts to reach peace between the two sides.
