Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The State Security Court handed down multiple hard-labor prison terms of up to 15-years against 6 persons after they were found guilty of terrorist offenses.
Two of the convicted persons received a 15-year prison term each after they were found to be supporters of the terrorist Daesh group and worked to promote the group's ideology on social media platforms.
According to the ruling, the convicts sought to recruit Jordanians to join the terrorist organization and also plotted to attack the Tourist Police building in Jubeiha district, northeast of Amman, using sniper rifles and under financing from Daesh.
Additionally, they planned to attack the General Intelligence Department's (GID) building by improvised missiles they were supposed to manufacture after receiving instructions from the terrorist group. They surveilled and monitored locations affiliated with the GID but they were arrested before they implement the plot.
Two other convicts were also delivered 15-year prison terms each after they were found guilty of joining the terrorist Daesh group. One of them joined the group in Syria and instructed the other to target Jordanian Christians and kill Muslims who "don't go to mosques for prayers".
One of the convicts received an 8-year prison sentence after he sought to promote the terrorist group's ideology on social media networks and embraced the "caliphate idea".
