Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Palestinian government of Prime Minister Rami Al Hamdallah Saturday praised Jordan's firm support of the Palestinian cause as the Kingdom prepares to host an upcoming Arab summit in which the Palestinian issue will top the agenda.
Jordan's interest and constant historic commitment towards the Palestinian cause is embodied in all of the Kingdom's stances and the efforts it exerts at all levels, said Palestinian government spokesman Yousef Al Mahmoud.
In this context, he said, Jordan is stepping up preparations to convene the Arab summit in Amman in late March in which the Palestinian cause will be a top agenda issue. He added that the Kingdom perseveres to forge an influential pan-Arab position at the regional and international levels to end the Israeli occupation and set up an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Palestinians needed Arab and world support in order to withstand Israel's domination and its strenuous attempts to undermine the right of the Palestinians to freedom and statehood, the spokesman said.
