Cabinet decides to hold municipal and governorate council elections

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - In implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Cabinet decided during its session on Monday, to hold municipal and governorate council elections.

The Cabinet also decided to form a ministerial committee to follow up on all details related to the elections, and provide the Independent Elections Commission with the needed support to ensure fair and transparent elections.

During a meeting with president and members of the IEC yesterday, His Majesty King Abdullah II directed the government to hold municipal elections and provide full support to the IEC to oversee and manage the local polls.

During today's session, the Cabinet also discussed steps needed to implement the National Strategy for Human Resources Development, which was launched recently in the presence of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah.
