Cold conditions to persist till Thursday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is forecast on Tuesday, but cold conditions will continue to prevail on the highlands, the desert regions and eastern plains, while it will be relatively warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

According to Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD), temperatures will plummet at night forming frost in different parts of the country.

Temperatures expected in the capital for today will range between a high of 17 degrees Celsius and a low of 5 degrees at night, in the northern parts they will reach18 degrees dropping to 9 at night, while daytime temperatures in the southern region will reach 14 degrees Celsius, sliding to 4 at night. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register 25 degrees going down 11at night, the JMD added.

Similar cold conditions are also forecast over the next two days, with patchy fogs and morning drizzles mainly in the central and southern parts of the Kingdom, the JMD added. Winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk blowing dust in the southern and eastern regions.
