Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs said it was following up on the case of a Jordanian national who was held by U.S. authorities upon arrival to country.
The ministry's official spokesperson, Saba Al Rafei, said U.S. authorities told the Jordanian embassy in Washington that Mohammad Abu Khadra was denied entry to the country and is being held because he is considered a minor, who didn't complete 18-year-old, can't enter without his parents accompanying him.
She noted that the decision had nothing to do with U.S. President, Donald Trump’s executive order to disallow the nationals of some countries from entering the United States.
She added that the Heartland International Children's Center, where Abu Khadra is detained, is in contact with Abu Khadra's family, through a lawyer, to ascertain he had his parent's consent before flying to the U.S.
