Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Thursday declared a state of maximum alert to grapple with emergencies that might result from the cold depression which will affect the Kingdom as of today according to weather bulletins.
GAM deputy director for districts and environment affairs and its official spokesman, Basem Tarawneh, said that municipal crews are fully ready to deal with the situation, noting that declaring a state of emergency usually comes during snow fall and heavy rain.
Tarawneh noted that GAM has authorized the 22 districts directors to hire vehicles including bulldozers to deal with the expected weather conditions.
He urged the public to stay at home and restrict their movements to emergencies to avoid blocking roads and enable emergency vehicles to help people in need.
