Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister, Hani al-Mulki, on Wednesday, opened the first part of the Amman Development Corridor which is hoped to an active investment environment attractive of investors and ventures.
The second and the third part of the major venture had been already opened in the past years. The project will curb transport bottlenecks in Amman and Zarqa and link the Kingdom's north with its south.
Minister of Public Works and Housing, Sami Halaseh, said the cost of the 18-Kilometer corridor amounted to $160mln and was partially funded by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development with an amount of $85 million.
Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Muhammad Saif al-Suwaidi, said the project was as a fruit of cooperation between the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and the Jordanian government to launch strategic projects designed to bring about development and prosperity and boost the competitiveness of the Jordanian economy.
