Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki requested all ministries and official departments to provide the government's human rights coordinator with reports on measures related to human rights legislation and policies in order to include them in annual and periodical reports.
In a circular issued on Sunday, Mulki also instructed all ministries and public institutions to provide the human rights coordinator with a periodical report on recommendations that have been accepted by the Kingdom while discussing the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
The UPR is a unique process which involves a review of the human rights records of all UN Member States. The UPR is a State-driven process, under the auspices of the Human Rights Council, which provides the opportunity for each State to declare what actions they have taken to improve the human rights situations in their countries and to fulfil their human rights obligations.
Under the circular, the human rights coordinator will also be provided with a periodical report on recommendations included in the Comprehensive National Plan on Human Rights for the years (2016-2025) as well as another report on recommendations that have been implemented following reports issued by the National Center for Human Rights.
