Lower House praises UNSC's decision on Israeli settlements

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Lower House on Wednesday, commended the decision of the UN Security Council (UNSC) which requested Israel to halt the establishment of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a statement issued today, the chamber said it is a historic decision that reflects the consensus of the international community to reject the unlawful Israeli settlements.

"It is also a positive beginning for the global community to recognize the Palestinian rights", said the statement.

The Lower House reiterated Jordan's support to the Palestinian people in their struggle to regain their legitimate rights, including establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, in addition to compensating Palestinian refugees and host countries.

The statement also highly praised the relentless efforts and stances of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which have always rejected Israeli racist policies against Palestine, its people and holy places.
