Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhoury said the total value of foreign, regular, additional and humanitarian aid extended and pledged to Jordan in 2016 is set to reach $2.8 billion.
In a statement issued Monday, Fakhoury said soft loans are set to make up $939.7 million of the estimated aid amount, while grants to support Jordan's Response Plan (JRP) amounted to $1.18 billion, while the value of grants will reach $733.8 million.
Regarding the additional aid Jordan has received to finance the JRP to the Syrian crisis 2016-2018 reached until the end of October $1.02 billion, equivalent to only 38.4 percent of the value of all the needs within this year's plan.
According to the minister, the value of the aid, which represents the needs and projects that will enhance Jordan's immunity and maintain the services provided to host communities and to refugees Syrians, is part of the total commitment under the Jordan Compact to provide additional grants worth $700 million annually over three years (2016- 2018) to the JRP, most of which allocated to finance priority projects targeting host communities.
