Jordan, Egypt to boost tourism cooperation

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Ennab highlighted the importance of peace making, and its direct impact on the tourism sector.

In a press statement on Monday, she said that during her recent visit to Egypt and her meeting with Pope Tawadros II, she conveyed the greetings of His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi Bin Mohammad, chairperson of the Baptism Site, to Pope Tawadros.

She also informed him of the decision taken by the Baptism Site Commission's board of Trustees to increase the area of land allocated to the Coptic Church at the site.

The minister said that both Jordan and Egypt will develop religious tourism through applicable plans between the two countries.

Egyptian Tourism Minister Yahia Rashid pointed to efforts of the two countries to achieve a tourism integration and boost cooperation in this area.
