Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Thursday received visiting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jabouri and discussed was to boost bilateral ties, the latest regional developments and efforts to fight terrorism.
The premier spoke high of ties between the two countries, while reiterating Jordan's full support to its eastern neighbor's unity, stability and security. Jordan, Mulki added, throws its weight behind Iraq's efforts to fight terrorism and address various challenges it is facing.
During the meeting, Mulki highlighted the importance of the proposed oil pipeline project between Basrah and Aqaba, which would allow Iraq to export its oil output and at the same time provide Jordan with its oil needs. Mulki also reiterated the importance of addressing obstacles hindering the re-opening of the border crossing between the two countries.
The premier noted that Jordan will host the Arab Summit, next March, while underscoring the importance of the summit, which would be held in a critical time, where the Arab nation is facing various challenges that require combined efforts to address them.
On his part, the visiting Iraqi lawmaker said that his country highly values the Jordanian stances and support.
