King visits Madaba, instructs government to implement service, developmental projects

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, instructed the government to build a new hospital, instead of the Al Nadim Governmental Hospital, and said: "I will lay the foundation stone of the hospital in 2017."

During a visit to Madaba governorate and a meeting with its representatives and key figures, King Abdullah stressed the importance of the Madaba Industrial Estate, in terms of employing the governorate's people and attract investors, saying: "Before the end of 2017 we will see the first factory in the industrial city."

His Majesty the King said poverty and unemployment are at the forefront of challenges facing the Kingdom, noting that the government has been coordinating with a factory in the Theeban district of Madaba to provide 100 new jobs.

the King noted, in this regard, that the government will also establish agricultural projects, pointing out that there is a government program to implement a fodder cultivation venture.

During the meeting, King Abdullah stressed the need to form a working group to follow up on projects in Madaba, involving all stakeholders to support the implementation of these projects.

His Majesty the King spoke about the rule of law and said: "The discussion paper is clear, and shows challenges ahead of us, there is no one above the law and I ask everyone to work in this direction," pointing out, in this context, to the need for cooperation between the government and the parliament.

With regard to the new U.S. administration, the King said he was optimistic about the future relationship between Jordan and the United States of America.

On hosting the next Arab summit, His Majesty said Jordan's goal as chair of the summit is putting priorities and challenges in front of everyone, stressing that this summit is an opportunity to work positively in light of regional challenges, in the interests of Arab and Islamic nations.

Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) Chief, Fayez Tarawneh, said King Abdullah has instructed RHC officials to implement a number of royal initiatives to integrate with the government's actions in the various sectors that serve the people of Madaba.

In his visit to Madaba, the King inaugurated Zaha Cultural Centre and toured its facilities. He also inspected the Al Nadim Governmental Hospital and laid the foundation stone for Madaba Industrial Estate.
