Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Senate President, Faisal al-Fayez, Wednesday, reiterated Jordan's keenness to preserve the unity and security of Iraq, as well as to support its efforts to eliminate terrorist organizations.

Welcoming Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Salim Jabouri, al-Fayez said Jordan and Iraq are bound by strong relations that are based on mutual respect, to serve the interests of both countries' people.

He also called to sustain consultations and coordination in different domains, particularly the war on terrorism and extremism.

On regional conditions, Al-Fayez said, Jordan is strong at the security and political levels, despite regional turmoil. But al-Fayez pointed to economic challenges facing the Kingdom as a result of hosting the Syrian refugees.

Iraq parliament's speaker said security challenges require concerted efforts, noting that peace and stability Jordan enjoys are important for solving issues experienced in the region.
