Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, Monday, highlighted major strains being borne by Jordan due to hosting a massive number of Syrian refugees on its territory.
He also underlined the importance of delivering on pledges made by the global community to help the Kingdom move forward in its humanitarian mission towards the refugees.
At a meeting here with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration, Anne Richard, Judeh reviewed developments in the Syrian arena and their consequences on countries hosting Syrian refugees.
The minister reiterated Jordan's stance since the beginning of the Syrian crisis advocating a political solution that safeguards the unity of Syria with the participation of all segments of the Syrian people.
The U.S. official stressed ties between her country and Jordan and said the U.S. would continue to extend assistance to the Kingdom.
Also, she noted that Jordan is an active partner in achieving peace and stability in the region and should be assisted.
