Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday started a working visit to New York by meeting with US Secretary of State, John Kerry, for talks on the latest developments in the Middle East.
The meeting discussed the Syrian crisis, efforts to address the threat of terrorism and its gangs and achieve peace in the Middle East.
King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's support for reaching a comprehensive and political solution to the Syrian crisis and regional and international efforts in the war on terrorism. The King also said the Kingdom will continue to back efforts to restart Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations based on the two-state solution.
The US Secretary of State expressed his country's appreciation for Jordan’s efforts to deal with the various crises in the Middle East, voicing the US support for the Kingdom in dealing with the Syrian refugees crisis.
His Majesty the King also met with Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Professor Klaus Schwab, and discussed future cooperation between Jordan and the WEF.
The meeting dealt with Jordan’s arrangements and efforts to host the meetings of the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa, which will be held for the ninth time at the Dead Sea in May 2017.
