Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, on Tuesday, stressed the importance of promoting tourism, according to clear and measurable programs, plans and objectives.
During a visit to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the prime minister urged tourism sector's stakeholders to examine the support granted for the tourism sector and identify forms of spending whether on the service providers or on tourists.
At a meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Lina Annab, and tourism sector's stakeholders to highlight the tourism sector's situation in the Kingdom, Al Mulki said this sector has the government's support and it cannot advance unless its problems were identified.
He added that tourism sector must be rebuilt and promoted, noting that its infrastructure is complete and adds to the gross domestic product (GDP).
He called on avoiding tourism-promoting programs that don't achieve their purposes.
The prime minister said granting exemptions, facilities and cuts must be followed by good and concrete results, stressing that tourism promotion and service would be of a great benefit if invested and directed properly.
