Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Monday, met with Director General of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) Adnan Shihab-Eldin.
Shihab-Eldin said that the foundation has allocated $20 million to support Jordan's education sector over a three-year period to help the Kingdom shoulder the burden of hosting Syrian refugees.
The amount is part of $50 million allocated by KFAS to support education in both Jordan and Lebanon.
The aid comes within a commitment made by Kuwait to support Jordan during the London donor conference, which was held last February.
Mulki voiced Jordan's thanks and appreciation for Kuwait and its Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, for their continued support to Jordan.
He said the government attaches special importance to vocational training and qualifying the youth to enter the labor market.
The prime minister also spoke about the challenges facing Jordan's education sector due to the Syrian crisis and the pressure placed by the Syrian students on schools in the Kingdom.
The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the progress and advancement of science and technology.
The main objective of KFAS is to stimulate creative initiatives and promote the construction of a solid scientific and technological base while at the same time creating an environment that encourages innovation.
