Jews requested to get rid of religious clothing to enter Jordan

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A group of Jewish worshipers was denied entrance to Aaron's Tomb in Jordan unless they left behind any Jewish symbols – yarmulkes, tallit and even religious books.

This is the second time in less than a year that Jews have been requested by Jordanian security personnel at the border crossing to take off their religious clothing. Last December, an Israeli family was asked by Jordanian soldiers to take off their yarmulkes before entering the kingdom.

Jordanian authorities later explained that the request had been made out of concern for the family's safety and that the soldiers had made a wrong decision.
