Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister Salamah Hammad said Sunday the Jordanian government addresses the Syrian refugee crisis within a holistic and coordinated approach involving the various authorities.

The minister said at a meeting with outgoing Representative of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to Jordan, Andrew Harper, that the Kingdom had provided help to the refugees and will continue to do so in all aspects to ease the plight of their displacement.

Hammad said Jordan and the UNHCR are bound by strategic ties, as the Kingdom recognises the UN agency's role as the "international umbrella" concerned with the refugees.

He praised the agency for helping Jordan to face the repercussions of the Syrian crisis.

Harper said he was satisfied with the level of cooperation by Jordanian officials and relevant bodies with the UNHCR, commending the Kingdom's policy toward the refugees' issue.
