Jordanian man killed in Libya after being kidnapped

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Police in the city of Subha in Libya announced Saturday that a Jordanian citizen had been killed after being kidnapped there last month, without revealing further details.

The police announced the Jordanian man's death via a statement on their official Facebook page.

The man's identity has not yet been made public.

Police did not clarify the circumstances of his death, or the kidnapping incident last month, in which 19 were killed, including 11 Libyans, seven foreigners and one person of unknown nationality.

In April, Jordan announced it was considering reopening its Libya mission, which had been closed since Jordanian ambassador Fawwaz Aitan was kidnapped two years ago.
