Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulqi said Saturday that the Kingdom will witness key activities and events this summer, which require additional efforts by the public security agency.
Speaking during a meeting with Public Security Department (PSD) Director General, Maj. Gen. Atef Saudi, and senior officers, Mulqi referred to Jordanian expatriates returning home as well as visitors from Arab and other countries coming to the Kingdom, the Jerash Festival, Jordan's hosting of the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and parliamentary elections.
The Prime Minister said during the meeting, attended by Interior Minister Salameh Hammad and state minister for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani, that he was proud of the security agency's professionalism and assured the officers of the government's full support of their agency. He stressed the security body's economic and social role.
Mulqi also pointed to celebrations of the Tawjihi (General secondary education certificate exam) results, and criticised such manifestations of joy as driving in convoys that block roads, urging festivities to be held indoor or in public parks.
The prime minister praised the PSD's efforts during the holy month of Ramadan and was reassured on preparations for the Eid al Fitr holiday, pointing to the burdens of the rising number of cars and traffic congestions.
