Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Kuwait-based Al-Najat Charity on Tuesday started offering relief aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan for the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan and Eid El-Fitr (Lesser Bairam).
The delegation distributing the aid is led by head of the Kaifan Zakat Committee at Al-Najat Oud Al-Khamis, chief of the relief aid projects at the society Eng. Thamer Al-Suhib and head of the Sham Zakat committee Sami Bunashi.
The campaign, being carried out in cooperation with the Jordanian Mohsnin (Benefactors) Charity, includes 640 food packages to be given to Syrian refugees in different parts of the Amman, Al-Suhib told KUNA.
Cash aid will be presented to some 516 orphans, and Eid clothes will be provided for 1,165 ones, he added. Moreover, 8,000 Ramadan Iftar meals will be offered, and aid will be extended to patients, he added.
For his part, Al-Khamis, pointed to the significance of the relief aid offered by the Kuwaiti society to the Syrian refugees in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon, as well as inside Syria, to alleviate their sufferings and help them survive the hard conditions they have been facing since the eruption of the crisis.
According to Al-Khamis, Al-Najat is sponsoring up to 1,200 orphans in Jordan.
During the meeting, the delegation will meet with refugees suffering chronic diseases, as Al-Najat is supporting 200 of them, who cannot afford treatment.
