Home Panorama Two craters on Mars , named as Suf and Faqu 22-05-2016 05:04 PM Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The researcher in astronomy , Imad Mujahed said that the International Astronomical Union named some of Jordanian places and cities on some of special craters on Mars , due to the beauty of Jordanian nature, and the role of Jordan in the scientific, cultural , political and other fields. Mujahed added to Ammon that the name of Suf which is a beautiful town in Jerash, will name a crater on the latitude 16.5 degree northern Mars equator, on the longitude 38.3 degree to the west , and the diameter of this crater is 9.9 Km. The other crater named as Faqu , as the name of a town in Kerak . The crater is on the latitude 24.8nothern Mars equator, and on the longitud 253.8 to the west, it means it is far away from Suf crater and on the other half of Mars . The diameter of Fuqa crater reached to 12.4 Km.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The researcher in astronomy , Imad Mujahed said that the International Astronomical Union named some of Jordanian places and cities on some of special craters on Mars , due to the beauty of Jordanian nature, and the role of Jordan in the scientific, cultural , political and other fields.
