Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Inflation rate in the first four months of 2016 went down by 1.2 per cent, compared to the same period of 2015, a report by the Department of Statistics (DoS) said.
According to DoS newly published report on the Kingdom's inflation rate, the decline was attributed to the in consumer prices in main item groups including transportation, meat and poultry,fuel and lightening, vegetables and fruits and nuts.
An increase occurred in prices of items including rents, culture, recreation, clothes and education.
The statistics also revealed that average prices went down by 1.2 per cent in April 2016, compared to the same month of 2015.
On monthly basis, the average consumer prices went up by 0.8 per cent in April 2016 compared to the previous month, the report said.
